Information we collect
- Information you give us. When you submit a contact or consultation form, we collect the details you enter, such as your name, email address, phone number, property address, whether you are a current or prospective client, and your message.
- Rental applications and portals. Rental applications, the Owner Portal, and the Tenant Portal are provided through our property management software, AppFolio. Information you enter there is collected and processed under AppFolio’s own terms and privacy policy in addition to this one.
- Automatically collected information. Like most websites, our hosting provider records standard server logs, including IP address, browser type, and pages visited. The site uses cookies that are necessary for it to function and to load quickly.
How we use information
- To respond to your inquiries and provide property management and leasing services.
- To process rental applications and manage tenancies.
- To communicate with you about properties, services, and your account.
- To keep the website secure and to comply with legal and regulatory obligations, including real estate record keeping requirements.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to operate our business, including with service providers that support our website, email, property management software, and maintenance coordination; with the owners of the properties we manage where necessary to manage the property; with background and credit screening providers as part of a rental application you submit; and when required by law or to protect our rights.
Third party services
This site links to or embeds services operated by others, including AppFolio (portals and applications), Google Maps, and Yelp. Those services have their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them.
Data retention and security
We keep personal information for as long as needed for the purposes described above and as required by law. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect it, although no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Your choices
You may ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, subject to legal retention requirements, by emailing info@southbayrental.com or calling (408) 409-4440. Children
This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
